Arthritis Treatment

Arthritis causes joint pain, stiffness, and swelling that can make everyday movement difficult. At Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center of Brooklyn, we work with patients experiencing osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and other joint conditions to ease discomfort and support long-term joint function.

How We Approach Arthritis Care

  • Manual Therapy — hands-on techniques to reduce stiffness and improve joint mobility.
  • Exercise Therapy — guided strengthening and range-of-motion work to protect joints and support movement.
  • Cold Laser Therapy — non-invasive light therapy that may help reduce pain and inflammation in affected joints.
  • Electrical Stimulation — gentle current used to relieve pain and support surrounding muscles.

Tools That Support Your Program

  • Heat Packs — moist heat to relax tight muscles and increase circulation before therapy.
  • Cold Packs — calm swelling and pain after activity or treatment.
  • Exercise Balls and Resistance Bands — used to build strength gradually without overloading sensitive joints.
  • Stationary Bikes — low-impact conditioning that keeps joints moving without added strain.

What to Expect

Your visit typically begins with an evaluation of joint mobility, strength, and daily function. From there, a plan is built around your specific joints and symptoms, combining hands-on care, targeted exercise, and supportive modalities to help you move more comfortably.
