Diagnostic Testing
Diagnostic Testing
Diagnostic testing helps identify the source of pain, weakness, numbness, or movement problems so that treatment can be planned around an accurate picture of what's happening in the body. At Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Center of Brooklyn, diagnostic testing supports the evaluation process across many of our rehabilitation and medical services.
On-Site Diagnostic Options
- Advanced Neurodiagnostics — EEG, EMG/NCS, and Evoked Potentials testing used to evaluate nerve and muscle function and support diagnosis of neurological conditions.
- MRI & X-Ray — on-site imaging that gives a clear view of bones, joints, and soft tissue to guide treatment planning.
- Biodex Balance Program — balance assessment technology used to measure stability and track progress during rehabilitation.
Why Testing Matters
Clear diagnostic information allows a treatment plan to target the actual cause of a condition rather than just its symptoms. This is often a first step for patients recovering from an injury, managing a neurological condition, or working through orthopedic concerns.
Who Diagnostic Testing Supports
- Neurological Conditions — nerve and muscle testing helps clarify issues affecting movement, sensation, or coordination.
- Orthopedic Concerns — imaging supports evaluation of joints, bones, and connective tissue after injury or before starting rehabilitation.
- Balance and Stability Issues — balance testing helps identify fall risk and functional deficits.
