Fall Prevention

Falls are a common concern for older adults and for anyone recovering from an injury, surgery, or a condition that affects strength or coordination. Fall prevention focuses on identifying the factors that put a person at risk of losing balance and building the strength, stability, and confidence needed to move safely through daily life.

What We Look At

  • Balance and Stability — how well you maintain your position while standing, walking, or changing direction.
  • Strength — whether your legs and core can support quick corrections when you shift weight or stumble.
  • Gait Pattern — how you walk, including step length, speed, and any unevenness that could increase risk.

How We Help

  • Balance Training — structured exercises that retrain your body's stability responses.
  • Biodex Balance Program — a guided approach used to assess and work on balance control.
  • Vestibular Therapy — addresses inner-ear and balance-system issues that can contribute to dizziness or unsteadiness.
  • Walking Rehabilitation — practice and correction of walking mechanics to support safer movement.

Tools We Use

Sessions may include balance pads and balance boards to challenge and retrain stability, along with exercise mats and treadmills for supervised movement practice. These tools allow gradual progression so you can build confidence at a pace that matches your current abilities.
